When, Where, Why:

Despite my deep German roots, I’ve only visited Germany twice. That is twice more than many of my German family members, so I suppose I can’t complain much.

Experience:

Germany is my favorite place to pass time – tickets-on-a-whim (2008) and extended layovers (2013) are the way to go. Be sure to hang out with the locals.

Food & Drink:

Grab a beer or some Gluhwein (or Appelwein if in Frankfurt) and laugh for hours. Typical german fare is heavy and sauce-laden, but a face reddened by hours of brew and shouts of “Prost!” who really cares?
