As a Saint Louisan by birthright, the recent events in Ferguson and the subsequent (and justified) outrage strike a particular chord in my heart, regardless of my open disfavour of the city generally.
In fact, it is largely due to the issues currently being raised by the good people of Ferguson that spark my blatant irritation and discomfort with the city, so lately I have taken to expressing a level of pride in the actions of my fellow St. Louis natives. More importantly, the Ferguson shooting of Michael Brown is a prime example of a more pervasive national issue. Here’s to those Missourians who refuse to let the story die.
