This name sticks

My friend Yakobo is a Muslim vendor of men’s shoes, shirts, and pants. It’s a family business and two of his sons (or nephews) take turns manning the stall or wandering the streets and offices to hawk their wares.

Though I’ve corrected him several times, in English, French, and butchered Ewe, he insists on calling me by his own name for me: Zayna, Arabic for ‘beauty.’

It should be noted that he has promised to leave all his ‘wives’ if I will marry him.
